The HARPOON: Vista Clara’s New Weapon Combining CPT + NMR

Long-awaited — and yes, I did sign an NDA on this one a good while ago! — Vista Clara’s latest borehole tool has finally surfaced: a powerful new instrument that merges two proven methods, Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), into one compact, high-impact package.

Those who work with porosity and permeability know how challenging it can be to derive both qualitative and quantitative subsurface data using the well-established NMR or other geophysics method. Now, add to that the ability to capture mechanical resistance information through CPT — and suddenly you gain an entirely new level of insight into water saturation, subsurface structure, and, based on experience, a much stronger a priori understanding of the ground beneath your feet.

Whether in mining, marine infrastructure, or countless other geo-engineering applications, this dual-sensor approach opens the door to far more robust and data-rich site characterization.

Well done — and masterfully executed — Team Vista Clara!

Congratulations on bringing this remarkable hybrid tool to life.

Now, let’s get the HARPOON into action!
